Nathan concluded his military service in 2021 and became Head of Electronic Warfare at Penten before founding his own company, Tactira, focusing on Electronic Warfare, Cyber, and emerging technologies. Involvement with the Organization: Nathan is a committed member of several professional and academic organisations, including the General Sir John Monash Foundation and the American Australian Association. Notable Achievements / Industry Recognition: Nathan led the winning teams of the inaugural Trilateral Electronic Warfare Challenge in 2024, representing both Australia and the UK under ASCA and DASA initiatives. He is also a recipient of the prestigious General Sir John Monash Foundation Scholarship and served as President of Scholars at Arizona State University. Lauren Hassall

Lauren Hassall is an experienced systems engineer specialising in space technologies, electromagnetic spectrum capabilities (including cyber and signals intelligence), and leadership in Defence and National Security. Her professional strengths include program and project management, strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and workforce leadership. Lauren currently oversees delivery for REDSPICE within KPMG’s strategic partnership and serves as a Reservist Engineer with the Australian Defence Force. Involvement with the Organisation: Lauren has served as CEO of AOC Australia since September 2023. She leads the organisation’s mission to grow the workforce pipeline and skills across the Electronic Warfare (EW) and Information Warfare (IW) domains. Her work includes advocating for the sector, coordinating professional development programs, and progressing strategic initiatives such as the Spectrum Working Group. Notable Achievements / Industry Recognition: Lauren became a Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) in 2023. That same year, she was named a finalist for “Engineer of the Year” at both the Space Awards and the Women in Defence Awards. She spoke as a panellist at the “Defending Australia” event at the Australian War Memorial and has maintained a strong presence in STEM and inclusion initiatives through her leadership roles on boards such as Robogals Global and YWCA Canberra. Glen Deards

Jeff Malone

Position & Company: Senior Analyst, Defence Science and Technology Group, Australian Department of Defence
Professional Background:
Mr Jeff Malone is a Senior Analyst in the Defence Science and Technology Group of the Australian Department of Defence. He currently manages programs that support Defence’s innovation, science, and technology strategy. He has also served for over ten years as the lead Operations in the Information Environment (OIE) evaluator at Headquarters Joint Operations Command. During his earlier service in the Australian Army, he contributed to the development of Australia’s OIE concepts and doctrine. Involvement with the Organisation: Jeff is currently the Secretary of the Australian Chapter of the Association of Old Crows (AOC) and previously served as its President. He directed the Chapter’s major conferences in 2016, 2018, and 2021, which included classified program elements. He has also presented at AOC conferences internationally, including this series on two occasions. Notable Achievements / Industry Recognition: Jeff was the lead Australian author of a textbook used at the U.S. Joint Forces Staff College and has published extensively on OIE. He has taught Masters-level courses on OIE and Electronic Warfare and is a repeat Visiting Lecturer at the UK Joint Services Command and Staff College. Awards, Recognitions, or Significant Accomplishments / Education: In 2003, Jeff was appointed Chief of Defence Force Fellow in recognition of his OIE-related work during the 1999 Australian-led intervention in East Timor.

Allan Dundas

Allan Dundas commenced his career with the Royal Australian Air Force in 1990 at the age of 17 and now has over 35 years of experience in national defence, having served in uniform, civilian and industry roles. Allan is the founder (in 2012), Chair and Chief Executive Officer of DEWC Services Pty Ltd, a rapidly growing Australian defence EW, Intelligence, Cyber and AI capability company based in South Australia with over 100 staff. He is an accomplished company director, business leader, engineer and proud Australian Defence Force (ADF) Veteran. Involvement with the Organisation: Allan has been a member of the AOC for over 20 years and has served as a Director on the Board of the AOC Australian Chapter since 2005. Notable Achievements/Industry Recognition: Allan was a finalist in the 2024 Prime Minister's National Veteran Employment Awards in the Veteran Entrepreneur of the Year category. Under Allan's leadership, DEWC has twice been awarded as the Consultancy of the Year at the Australian Defence Industry Awards in 2019 and 2023. DEWC was the 2022 and 2024 State winner of the Defence Reserves and Employer Support Awards for the medium prviate category. DEWC was the State winner of the 2023 and 2024 Australian Achiever awards for excellence in customer service. Peter Jenkins OAM

Peter commenced his career at Garden Island Dockyard in 1978 as a Trainee Technical Officer in the Radar and Countermeasures Workshop. In 1989, he founded Jenkins Engineering Defence Systems (JEDS), which has specialised from its inception in providing electronic warfare, radar, and communications support—primarily to the Royal Australian Navy. Involvement with the Organization: He first joined the Kangaroo Chapter over 40 years ago, which later became the Australian Chapter of the Association of Old Crows. Notable Achievements / Industry Recognition: In 2019, Peter was awarded the McNeil Prize by the Australian Naval Institute, which recognises an individual from Australian industry who has made an outstanding contribution to the capabilities of the Royal Australian Navy. In 2023, he was honoured with the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) for service to electrical engineering. Shavi Nachman

Professional Background:
Shavi began his engineering career with BAE Systems in Williamstown, VIC, serving as a Combat Systems Engineer and Systems Owner on the Canberra Class LHD. Following the LHD handover, he worked on the Anzac Class Frigates, the RNZN Anzac Frigates, and the Nulka 5B upgrade, later taking on the role of Engineering Manager for the Hunter Class Frigates. He is currently supporting CSI-IPT and AIR6500, while managing teams contributing to SEA5000, SEA4000, and the Australian Blackhawks programs. Involvement with the Organization: Shavi originally joined the Association of Old Crows in 2015 and has been an active contributor since. Notable Achievements / Industry Recognition: He is a Fellow of Engineers Australia, a Chartered Professional Engineer across multiple areas—including Leadership & Management, Project Management, and Information Telecommunications and Electronic Engineering—and a Senior Member of the IEEE.
